It was a freezing night on December 18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, when Jamie Grabowski, a bus driver, was heading back to the station at the end of her shift and saw something on the road that caught her eye.
There were two stray dogs running scared through the cold streets, so Jamie knew he had to stop and try to help them.
In the surveillance camera footage, we can see Jamie stopping the bus and opening the driver’s side window to call the dogs. Fortunately, they came to his call.

An officer later brought the dogs to his patrol and transported them to the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC), which is the only facility in Milwaukee County dedicated to taking in and caring for homeless animals.
MADACC staff determined that the Pit Bull and Doberman Pinscher , both about two years old, were in good health and “very sweet and playful.”
What Jamie did for these little dogs is a lesson in love and compassion, but to the concerned family of this pair of dogs, who had been out all night and desperately searching for them, it must have seemed like a Christmas miracle.
Without hesitation, Jamie went out of his way to make sure they were reunited with his family.
The transit authorities said:
“It turns out that the dogs had somehow made their way out of his family yard two and a half miles from where Jamie found them. Jamie, an avid animal lover who jokes that she is a ‘dog lover’, said she is happy to have been in the right place at the right time to help the two ‘very good children’. “
Thanks to this kind woman, the dogs reached her family safely, just in time for Christmas.
For their part, the family said they are extremely grateful to everyone involved for making a Christmas miracle come true.
