Cat is a cat that was characterized by being very shy and still managed to capture the attention of Mindy Criner and her husband Luke, who decided to take him in their arms, because they had the feeling that he only needed a family to bring out his personality .
Although it wasn’t easy, Cat managed to adjust to her new home, and when Mindy and Luke had a baby, he loved it right away.
The cat liked to walk around the yard and explore, but unfortunately one day Mindy went looking for it and couldn’t find it anywhere.

Given what happened, the woman quickly contacted the Lost & Found Pets – Hampton Roads Facebook page for help, and then together with her husband did everything possible to find Cat.
They put a litter and food box outside in the hopes that the familiar smells would help him get back home. They also set up small lodging stations throughout the neighborhood and asked their friends to check them whenever they could.
On the other hand, they used traditional methods such as signs with his name all over the neighborhood, but the days passed without finding him and they began to lose hope.
Mindy dijo a The Dodo:
“The weeks turned into a year, then a little longer and each day that crack in my broken heart grew a little.”
It was a great surprise for Mindy to receive a call after so long in which they told her that someone had found her cat.
The woman thought it was a mistake, but immediately went to the shelter from where she was called and informed that a man had been feeding Cat thinking that it was a homeless cat.
Cat was hit by a car and survived, the man contacted animal control and thanks to his microchip they were able to realize that he had a family.
Mindy contacted the man and headed home. The cat was eating on the porch when the woman arrived and as soon as they saw each other it seemed like it hadn’t been long.
She sat on the steps waiting for the cat to approach in case he was afraid, he got into her lap purring, and later he threw himself into his arms showing how much he missed her.
Mindy said:
“I started walking towards the car where Luke, my husband (who has an incredibly distinctive voice), was talking to the guy who had been feeding him, then Cat purred louder than normal and gave me that super long head bump. As if I wanted to put the little piece of my broken heart back in its place.
Cat knew she would finally come home and settled back quickly. Since then, he and his parents have been hugging each other most of the time, showing all the affection that they could not share for more than a year.
Everyone is very happy that Cat is back. Mindy hopes that her story will give hope to families who are going through a situation similar to the one she lived through, and she also invites them to check if the animals that roam the streets have a microchip to help them reconcentrate with their loved ones.
