This female rhino was 2 months old when she was rescued in South Africa. She was completely alone for several days, fed on sand, was ill and traumatized because her mother had been killed by poachers. The little girl was taken to the organization The Rhino Orphanage and there she received the name “Nandi”, which means “Love”.
Nandi has been cared for by Jamie Traynor, who is also her favorite person. The white rhino was fed milk when it arrived at the organization’s facilities.

“We have just returned from the orphanage where we have delivered much needed medicines and supplies to the caretakers and park rangers who treat and protect the babies.”
“She is a little rhinoceros with a great attitude and has caused Jamie and many bruises,” said the organization regarding the playful relationship between Nandi and Jamie.

Nandi showed remarkable improvements after spending a few weeks in care; she is no longer full of fear.
Now she seems to feel complete trust, especially towards her caregiver.

Luckily, in Nandi’s case, it seems this adorable baby is out of the woods. She is drinking, has started to eat solids and her health is improving day by day.
At The Rhino Orphanage there are a large number of baby rhinos being cared for and cared for, each one of them has different needs than the rest, they are like small children who need help because they have been left alone.
Nandi looks much more cheerful now; he likes to play, but he still has a long way to go towards his full recovery.
