Russian local police are investigating a couple who adopted a dog, brought it home, and beat it to death to cook it for dinner. The couple, who seemed very respectable and loving, convinced the staff at the shelter where Nika was staying that they were perfect for adopting the dog.
When it seemed that at last Nika, a dog rescued from the streets, had found her new home, she found it was a sad ending.
The friendly and caring little dog had run up to them as soon as they entered in search of a dog to adopt, and they brought it to their home on Sakhalin, an island off the east coast of Russia.

Her horrible fate came to light when shelter staff wanted to visit the new owners’ home to see how Nika was doing.
Upon arrival, the volunteer Ekaterina Valyus, perceived in the environment a smell of fried meat, she also observed that, in the couple’s car, there were hairs and remains of the dog.
Ekaterina dijo a The Sun:
When I arrived it smelled of fried meat. Then I saw the dog’s hair and remains in the Porsche. The rest was on his stove.
The couple, Galina and her unidentified husband, appeared to be dog lovers when they decided to give Nika a sweet home.
But the images that can be seen of the terrifying act show the hell that Nika lived in just one night.

The volunteer said that at the beginning Galina did not accept the killing of the dog, but in the end she confessed everything to the police.
Nika had been beaten with an iron bar to death, local news media reported.
The director of the animal shelter, Irina Savitskaya, demands that the authorities be jailed for this cruel act.
Mrs. Irina described Galina as “cheeky” as she seemed to talk about everything as if it were something very normal, she admitted that she had killed the dog and ate it.
Irina said:
“She gave me her passport details, made a contract, took the dog and ate her new pet that very night.”
What irritated Irina the most is that while Galina described what had been done to Nika, she seemed to delight in the evil caused.
Besides, it simply said; “No one is going to jail me for a dog.”
We demand that this couple receive a prison sentence, for the cruel act they committed against a being that all he longed for was to find a forever family.
