Four puppies from the same litter were found in a completely abandoned water drain and feeding on garbage, among these little ones were Rico and Rafiq. These dogs grew up together while their two sisters were promptly adopted after being rescued.

The four cubs were about a month and a half old when the animal rescue organization  ZEIL  found them and took them to their facilities to provide them with the appropriate care.

Rico and Rafiq were in the care of the rescue center for two years after their sisters were adopted and during this time the two of them created a great emotional bond, they became completely inseparable.

Both dogs had very introverted personalities, but they were always very loving and polite to the people and the other dogs at the shelter.

They were always together, until the day of separation came, Rafiq was finally adopted by a family residing in Denmark, but they could not remain distant, so, a few days after the adoption, Rafiq ran away from his new home to go in search of his brother Rico.

Although Rafiq’s new family tried in every way to locate him, it was very complex because the dog was in a totally unknown place for him.

As nothing seemed to work, the ZEIL rescue center chose to go to Denmark together with his brother Rico and they indeed managed to locate him after an exhaustive search for two days.

After the long journey, Rico and Rafiq finally claimed to spend the rest of their lives together, just as they had always wanted, Rafiq’s family decided to adopt Rico as well after realizing that they could not stay apart.
